Dame Blanche from Eliza's Kitchen

Dame Blanche. I love the sound of it. It sounds romantic even though I am not really sure the meaning of it. According to a website, Dame Blanche is a traditional French cookie. Many times it comes in a heart-shape piece with raspberry or blueberry jam as the filling. The first time I saw this name was in Eliza blog. She posted beautiful pictures of cookies with blueberry jam as the filling. I thought it would be fantastic, if I could make these cookies for Amanda. Mind you, I am not big on baking cookies or cakes. So after I read the recipe a few times, I still had to contact Eliza and asked for some advises to make these romantic cookies.
Well, after making it, I found out that these cookies were hard to make. I followed the recipe closely and yet my dough was not the texture I expected. I added in some more flour to make my dough a little hard.
Nevertheless, Amanda and her father loved the cookies. However, they like them without the jam. I especially like the crunchiness from the almond meal. These cookies are a delight to have with a cup of warm tea.

ASIDE- I have not blogged about Amanda for a long time. She is now four and a half year old. Since it is summer, we decided not home-schooled her for the whole summer. Instead, we try to make her exercise. She is now rather capable in riding her bicycle and she can endure long walk.
